In the darkness,
in the night,
she is there:
loneliness.
In uncertainty
and in sorrow,
she makes herself present.
And, surprisingly,
she is still there
even when we are surrounded by people.
On the bus ride,
at work or on the street,
at university or at church...
she is there.
You can get used to her,
you can ignore her,
cover her with noise
and distractions.
But deep down,
for some,
she lives in every corner.
She is loneliness,
your faithful companion,
the one who,
whether you want her or not,
is always waiting for you.
Author’s note
Loneliness has always been a present theme in my life, and now that I am experimenting with poetry, I thought it would be healthy to dedicate a few words to it and include it in my “Pensamientos.”
Some days feel heavier than others, and this poem was written on one of those days.
“Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.”
(Isaiah 41:10 NLT)
This poem is a reinterpretation of the original Spanish version. Here it is if you’d like to read it:
If this Pensamiento resonated with you or blessed you in any way, I’d love to hear about it in the comments. Also, if you’re going through something and need prayer, please feel free to send me a private message.
If anything you read blesses you, encourages you, or draws you closer to Jesus, then my work was worthwhile. But if you’d like to support me in continuing to write, you can buy me a coffee. Your help allows me to keep creating and sharing these reflections. God bless you!

Thank you for sharing this. God bless you, brother.
