What He saw
Poem — reinterpreted from the Spanish version.

What did God see when He created us?
What lay within His infinite and wise heart?
Why were we, imperfect beings, the pinnacle of His creation? 1
Those of whom His Word says
that He created in His image and likeness. 2
But that many times
we are not worthy of that honor. 3
Why deal with us?
Those to whom the power was given
to grieve His heart. 4
Why deal with us?
There is only one reason.
For love. 5
Not just love for His creation.
Love for Himself. 6
Because before He formed us from dust, 7
He already knew the price
of making us vessels of His love. 8
Why deal with us?
Because while He breathed life into us, 9
He knew that His own Son
would give His own life out of love. 10
Why deal with us?
Because He created us as a fruit of His love.
And true love loves without fear. 11
True love
is willing to redeem our rebellion. 12
And He showed us this,
by taking our sin
and nailing it with Him to a cross. 13
Because before sin existed,
the cross already existed. 14
And that’s what God saw
when He created us.
This is just the third poem I’ve ever written.
It’s a reinterpretation of the original Spanish version I wrote, which you can find here:
And if it resonated with you or was a blessing in any way, I’d love to know in the comments.
If you’re going through something and need prayer, I’m here. Feel free to send me a message.
If something you read here blesses you, encourages you, or draws you closer to Jesus—then it’s all been worth it. But, if you’d like to support me in a small way to continue writing, you can buy me a coffee. God bless you!
Whenever I write, I like to filter my thoughts through the light of Scripture. I would normally include the verses within the text, but, due to the genre, I’ve decided to include a list of the biblical passages I used to check the biblical accuracy of what I’ve written.

This is a wonderful piece! I really like this line:”Because before sin existed,
the cross already existed.”What a friend we have in Jesus!🙏
